So a great scene becomes a great short

Same story.
A new way to watch.

We keep the context and make every word easy to read.
Polished so your message still lands on a small screen.

No more scrubbing
through hours of footage.

We look at the flow of conversation, changes in sound and movement on screen together. We find where a story starts and ends, and pick scenes that keep their context even when short.

  • Viewer comments are factored in when the video has them
  • See why each scene was recommended
  • Discover varied moments across the whole video

Even with the sound off,
the story comes through.

Captions are split to follow the rhythm of speech, and key words stand out. Pick a caption style that fits the mood of your video.

A narrower frame,
without losing the star.

The vertical frame follows people and movement. For scenes that need the wide view, a layout that keeps the whole original preserves what matters.

Great stories,
fewer language barriers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which videos can I use?
Videos you own, plus reusable (CC BY) videos from the miro catalog. For catalog footage, we re-check the license right before processing and add the required attribution.
How much does it cost?
Get credits every month with a plan, or buy extra credits when you need them. Analyzing a new video costs a base of 8 credits per request, plus 1 credit per minute of video and 1 credit per short. Editing captions, scenes and layout costs nothing no matter how often you do it; only re-rendering a finished short costs 1 credit each. Failed jobs are refunded automatically. You get 30 credits when you sign up. See credit packs and pricing
Will the final video match what I see on screen?
Yes. The caption line breaks, emphasis, position and crop you see in the editor are applied to the final video by the same rules.
Can I use videos without dialogue?
Yes. For videos without dialogue — animals, landscapes, time-lapses — we can create narration that fits the scenes and the flow of the story. You can choose the voice and the tone separately.
How much happens automatically?
Choose the long video and how many clips you want: moment selection, clip structure, captions and vertical framing run automatically all the way to the finished files, even if you close the window — the first file for each clip is included in the request. If you'd rather check the ranges before files are made, turn on 'Check clips before making' when you request: it stops after analysis, and you press Make once you've looked.
What's the difference between a cut and a short? What if I don't like it?
A cut is a range chosen from the original; a short is the video file made from that cut with captions and a vertical layout. One cut can become several shorts in different aspect ratios or languages. After analysis the short file for each cut is made right away, and the first file for each cut is included in the request price (if you turned on 'Check clips before making', it stops after analysis and becomes a file when you press 'Make video'). If the range isn't right, adjust it while watching the original; removing scenes or fixing captions and layout is always free, and only making the edited version into a file again costs credits. Need more? 'Find more cuts' adds cuts without re-analyzing, and you're not charged if nothing new is found.
How long can the video be?
Up to 30 minutes per request. For YouTube links and catalog videos, pick a start and end to split a longer video; trim files to 30 minutes or less before uploading. Files can be up to 2GB in avi · m4v · mkv · mov · mp4 · webm. One request can ask for up to 6 shorts, and you can add more afterwards with 'Find more cuts'.
Which links can I paste?
YouTube URLs, Google Drive / Dropbox / OneDrive share links (shared with 'anyone with the link'), and https URLs that serve a video file directly. For TikTok, Instagram and other sites, upload the file instead. YouTube videos must be your own or ones you have permission to use; reusable (CC BY) videos can be picked straight from the catalog.
Can I add several videos at once?
Yes. Drop several files into the start box and choose one of two: “A short from each” makes a project per video and the AI picks the cuts, while “Join into one short” lets you pick the segment to use from each video and strings them in the order you choose. You can also select two or more sources in the library and join them (up to 8 per bundle).
Can it cut in other ways than highlights?
Yes. There are twelve edit modes — highlights, key summary, funny moments, one whole scene, documentary narration, trailer, character story and more. The same video yields different scenes per mode, and 'Let AI choose' mixes modes to fit the video. After analysis, 'Find stories' proposes story lines from the video that could each become a short, with the timestamps that back them (5 credits).
Which languages are supported? Can it dub?
The spoken language is detected automatically and transcribed. Captions, titles and context lines can be translated into your channel's language; Korean, English and Japanese have reviewed line-break rules (other languages work but are marked 'not yet reviewed by a native speaker'). Dubbing (a voice reading the translated lines) and narration for videos without dialogue are switched on in the request form. Translation and voice are included in the request price.
What if the original already has burned-in subtitles?
The original subtitle area can be blurred so it doesn't double up with the new captions (free), or the text can be erased (2 credits per short, free on Pro and above). The default is 'cover only where they overlap', so nothing stacks even if you change nothing.
Where do I post the finished short? Does it write the title too?
It's a vertical video file, so it works on YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok alike, and captions and titles sit where each app's buttons won't cover them. For every short we prepare a free publishing kit — title, description, hashtags and the attribution line — and if you connect your YouTube channel, views and retention of the shorts you post feed back into the next selection.
How long are my files kept?
Originals are kept for 7 days from when you add them, finished shorts for 14 days from rendering, and we notify you 2 days before cleanup. Cuts, captions and edits stay, but a cut whose original has been cleaned up can't be rendered again, so download finished shorts in time.
